Come celebrate Chinese New Year with us on Thursday, February 15th, 2018. This City Square signature event will feature a Lion Dance & Lions Blessing Parade through the mall. The “Choi Cheng” (Lions Blessing Parade) tradition involves merchants inviting the lion to eat the lettuce in front of their store and offering the lion “lucky money” in order to bring good luck and good fortune to the business throughout the New Year. Don’t miss out on this exciting annual cultural experience! The festivities will begin at 12:30 pm at the centre food court.

Young Entrepreneur Learning Labs is an after-school enrichment program designed to engage children aged 7-15 in entrepreneurial thinking and foster their natural, enterprising spirit.

In the Young Entrepreneur Learning Labs entrepreneurship programs, KidPreneurs learn vital business skills while starting their own micro-businesses in a fun and experiential way. The program concludes with a Market Day, where kids sell their products to friends, family and the public.

HO HO HO! Santa will be landing at City Square on December 9th, come join us and make some magical family memories with a Charlotte Diamond Concert and Photos with Santa:

11am-12noon: Join Charlotte Diamond and Matt Diamond for a family Holiday Concert! They will be singing their famous classics – I am a Pizza, Feliz Navidad, Petit Papa Noel and many more! The live concert includes a meet n’ greet with signing session and Gingerbread Men cookies for kids! Free event. Drop-in on a first come, first serve basis.

12:30pm-2:30pm: Make magical family memories with Santa Photos – family portraits with Santa & Cotton Candy for kids. By donation, families will get a professional photo session with Santa (minimum charitable donation of $5 with all proceeds going to the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation). By donation, drop-in event.

We will be providing fun and FREE activities for children (up to 14 years of age) to enjoy, including:

• Trick-or-Treating at participating retailers (peanut free options are available while quantities last).
• Prize station for all completed Halloween Hunt maps – Maps have to be picked up at our food court from 12-12:30 pm (or while quantities last). Fully completed maps must be returned by 2:30 pm to receive your Halloween reward and ticket to Enter for a chance to win one of several runner-up prizes. The Trick-or Treat draw takes place at 2:45 pm or after the end of the last Magician Show.*
• Magic Shows will be taking place at the following three (3) times: 12:30 pm; 1:15 pm & 2:00 pm.
• Face Painting from 12:00 pm-2:45 pm courtesy of Blanche Macdonald.
• Professional Family Portraits from 12:00 pm-2:45pm by Sombilon Photography. **
• Cookie decorating from 12-2:45pm: by donation. All proceeds going to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. Minimum donation of $2 per cookie.
